Our Commitment to Accessibility
RailScanPro is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
RailScanPro is working toward WCAG 2.1 level AA conformance. We have implemented many accessibility features and are actively working to address remaining gaps.

Keyboard Navigation
- Full keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements
- Logical tab order throughout the application
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
Screen Reader Support
- Semantic HTML markup for better screen reader compatibility
- ARIA labels and descriptions for complex interactions
- Alternative text for all meaningful images
- Proper heading hierarchy (H1-H6)
- Form labels and error messages announced correctly
Visual Accessibility
- High contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA standards
- Resizable text up to 200% without loss of functionality
- No use of color alone to convey information
- Dark mode option to reduce eye strain

We are actively working on the following accessibility enhancements:
- Skip navigation links - Bypass repetitive content (Q1 2026)
- Keyboard shortcuts - Quick actions for common tasks (Q1 2026)
- Native video captions - Currently relies on YouTube/Vimeo captions
- Audio transcripts - For any audio content we add
- Adjustable font sizes - User-controlled text sizing
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some limitations may exist:
- AI Vision Analysis: Image recognition results may not be fully accessible to screen readers
- Complex Data Tables: Some inventory tables may be difficult to navigate with screen readers
- Third-Party Content: External integrations may not meet our accessibility standards
- PDF Documents: Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible
We are actively working to address these limitations.

RailScanPro is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen Readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
- Screen Magnifiers: ZoomText, MAGic
- Speech Recognition: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Windows Speech Recognition
- Alternative Input Devices: Switch controls, eye tracking, sip-and-puff

Our platform is tested with the following browsers and assistive technology combinations:
- Desktop: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (latest 2 versions)
- Mobile: iOS Safari, Android Chrome (latest 2 versions)
- Screen Readers: JAWS with Chrome, NVDA with Firefox, VoiceOver with Safari
