Prussian State Railways Electrification Trial

June 17, 1903 saw the Prussian State Railways commence public electric multiple-unit trials between Berlin and Lichterfelde. These tests validated 750-volt DC third-rail operation at speeds exceeding 80 km/h, paving the way for the world's first electrified mainline suburban network.
