On July 22, 1904, the Berlin Hochbahngesellschaft opened its northern extension of the U-Bahn from Stettiner Bahnhof to Wedding. This expansion served growing industrial suburbs and demonstrated early 20th-century urban rail engineering. The line remains part of today's U6, illustrating Berlin's pioneering role in rapid transit.
