RailCommand Engineer Cab

Engineer Cab is the operator surface for controlling an assigned locomotive or train.

Before Moving

Confirm:

  • The correct operating session is active.
  • The locomotive or train is assigned to you.
  • Hardware state supports movement.
  • Dispatcher or session authority allows the move.
  • Emergency stop is available.

Current Web Routes

  • Throttle launcher: /app/railcommand/throttle
  • Locomotive throttle: /app/railcommand/throttle/{LocomotiveId}
  • DCC console: /app/railcommand/layouts/{LayoutId}/dcc-console
  • Decoder tools: /app/railcommand/decoder-tools
  • Decoder programming: /app/railcommand/decoder-programming/{LocomotiveId}

For live hardware operation, prefer the RailCommand desktop app and local runtime workflow.

If the Train Does Not Respond

Do not keep increasing throttle.

  1. Stop.
  2. Verify command station and track power.
  3. Verify DCC address and locomotive selection.
  4. Check whether the session is simulated, degraded, or offline.
  5. Ask the dispatcher or session host before trying again.
