Preparing Insurance Reports

Last updated: July 3, 2026

RailScanPro insurance reports help you prepare documentation for a collection, claim packet, estate review, or insurer conversation. They are supporting documentation, not a professional appraisal.

Open Insurance Reports

  1. Sign in and confirm the correct organization.
  2. Open /app/reporting/insurance.

Choose a Preset

Current presets include:

  • Quick Summary: item counts and total values.
  • Standard Insurance Report: photos, valuations, and QR verification.
  • Comprehensive Report: all photos, history, and maintenance records.
  • Custom Report: control sections, photos, filtering, and formatting.

Prepare Records First

Before generating a report, make sure important items have:

  • Clear primary photo.
  • Manufacturer and model number.
  • Road name, reporting mark, and road number.
  • Scale and item type.
  • Condition.
  • Purchase price or current value when known.
  • Notes about modifications, provenance, or damage.
  • Maintenance records for high-value or operational equipment.

Important Valuation Note

Use the report as a documentation packet. For formal valuation, high-value collections, legal disputes, or insurer-specific requirements, work with a qualified appraiser or your insurance provider.
