Using RailScanPro on Mobile and Tablet

Last updated: July 3, 2026

RailScanPro's authenticated web app includes mobile-friendly inventory and QR workflows for phones and tablets. Use the same sign-in and organization context you use on desktop.

Start from the Browser

  1. Open RailScanPro in your mobile or tablet browser.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Confirm the correct organization is selected.
  4. Open Asset Management.

For current inventory work, the most useful mobile routes are:

  • /app/asset-management/add
  • /app/asset-management/add/photo-first
  • /app/asset-management/add/quick
  • /app/asset-management/qr
  • /app/asset-management/scan
  • /app/asset-management/list

Add Items with Photos

  1. Open /app/asset-management/add.
  2. Choose Photo First for AI-assisted entry or Quick Add for fast manual entry.
  3. Take or upload clear photos.
  4. Review every suggested field before saving.

Photo-first entry supports multiple photos, primary photo selection, and orientation labels.

Scan QR Labels

  1. Open /app/asset-management/scan.
  2. Allow camera access.
  3. Choose the correct camera.
  4. Tap Start.
  5. Aim at a RailScanPro QR label.

When the code is recognized, RailScanPro opens the item detail page.

Layout-Room Tips

  • Keep the device charged during long cataloging sessions.
  • Use bright, even lighting for both QR scans and AI photos.
  • Set models on a plain background before photographing them.
  • Confirm the organization before adding or editing inventory.
  • Use the item detail page to update notes, condition, location, decoder information, or maintenance status.

Availability Note

This article describes the current browser and tablet-friendly workflows. Native mobile packaging, offline sync, and app-store distribution should be treated as active product areas unless your RailScanPro administrator has specifically provided a released mobile app.
