Desktop Sign-In Through the Layout Engine (Device Code as Fallback)
Sign in once with your email and password at the desktop login screen. The app hands the password to the layout engine, which performs the cloud sign-in and owns the one session for the whole desktop — the app never signs in separately. The short browser-approved code remains as the fallback for multi-factor accounts and password-free sign-in, shown prominently whenever it runs.
